STHLM Glas
GUSTAVSBERG, SWEDEN

HISTORY
Sthlm Glas is a small, urban glassworks based in Gustavsberg. Founded with the vision to keep the glassblowing tradition alive in a contemporary context, it operates like a pocket-sized factory — hands-on, precise, and deeply collaborative. In a country where large-scale glass production has faded, Sthlm Glas has become a vibrant hub for experimentation and excellence in small-batch, handmade glassware.
TRUE CRAFTMANSHIP
STHLM GLAS
At Sthlm Glas, everything starts with heat and breath. Each object is shaped by hand in the hotshop, using traditional glassblowing tools and techniques. The team works closely with designers, translating their ideas directly in molten glass — without molds or intermediaries. For Subjective, they craft forms that blur the line between utility and sculpture. The beauty of this process lies in its immediacy: the maker’s hand is always visible in the final piece.

OUR JOURNEY
Subjective’s relationship with Sthlm Glas is one of creative intimacy. Our collaboration thrives on proximity, spontaneity, and shared values around material honesty. We work side by side, testing proportions and refining silhouettes until the glass itself feels resolved. Each edition reflects not only intentional design but a celebration of the handmade — every detail shaped in real time.
MADE, TOGETHER
Together with Sthlm Glas, Subjective presents three collections. Cirrus by Simon Klenell captures the fluid movement of glass with a soft, amorphous form. Babushka Bowls by Monica Förster reinterpret Russian nesting dolls in clear glass, each lid creating a magnifying lens. Ponyville Pendant by Mats Theselius surrounds a handblown cylinder with a brass relief based on his daughter’s childhood sketch. Playful, poetic, precise — these objects carry both memory and mastery.
