Outside the box

How our packaging came to be

ABOUT

At Subjective, packaging isn’t an afterthought - it’s part of the product. From the start, we asked ourselves a question: how can we create a package that’s as thoughtful and intentional as the object it holds? The answer wasn’t found in an off-the-shelf solution. Instead, we went back to the drawing board and together with Tuesday design studio we spent over a year folding, cutting, and rethinking. The result is a packaging concept that is both understated and clever, aligning fully with our design philosophy.

PROCESS

The development focused on one thing: do more with less. Our packaging uses a single sheet of recycled, unlaminated material. Free from glue, flaps, or excess. The sideless construction allows the object to be partially visible even when boxed, while the smart layout ensures minimal waste in production. No unnecessary components. No decorative extras. Just simplicity, function and form at its best.

THE MAKING

The form is engineered to minimize waste at production level, every fold and edge is there for a reason. By removing tabs and excess, we minimise material use and make the most of every sheet.
It’s a small act of efficiency that supports a much bigger goal: reducing our footprint without compromising the experience.

MORE THAN A BOX

The packaging is the first encounter — a tactile prelude to what’s inside. We see it not as a container, but as part of the design story. It reflects Subjective’s values in every detail: purposeful, resourceful, and considered. It exists not to impress, but to align — with the object it holds, and the values it represents.
