HISTORY

Founded in 1987, Sebastian Schildt Verkstäder is Sweden’s largest silver and metal atelier – and a vital force in preserving the country’s craft legacy. Located in Stockholm, the studio was established by designer and silversmith Sebastian Schildt with a mission to merge traditional techniques with contemporary design. Known for its exceptional precision and expressive forms, the workshop produces both one-of-a-kind pieces and small series, all made entirely by hand. Here, metal is not just a material — it’s a medium for timeless, sculptural storytelling.

TRUE CRAFTMANSHIP

Unlike industrial metal production, the work at Sebastian Schildt Verkstäder remains deeply hands-on. Every vase, pendant or object is shaped, soldered, and polished by a small team of master artisans. The process allows for complete control over detail and proportion — from the way a pendant casts light to the quiet weight of a brass vessel. Materials are chosen for their longevity and integrity, and each piece is refined until it carries the studio’s signature clarity and calm.

OUR JOURNEY

Subjective collaborates with Sebastian Schildt Verkstäder to explore what metal can be in the modern interior — not loud or ornamental, but purposeful and poetic. The partnership is built on shared principles: to keep craft close, to make locally, and to value the invisible work behind every surface. Together, we create not just decorative pieces, but enduring tools for atmosphere and expression.

Made, together

Sebastian Schildt Verkstäder produces several key pieces for Subjective’s collection.
Pakku is a series of cylindrical vases in polished brass. With off-center openings and a mirrored finish, they turn small gestures, like placing a single stem, into focused moments of form and reflection.
The Ponyville Pendant and Cloudsdale Pendant, designed by Mats Theselius, reinterpret a childhood drawing in water-cut brass relief, wrapped around handblown glass. Each lamp combines storytelling with fine metalwork, resulting in luminous objects that feel both playful and profound.
